Questions asked about illegal immigration from the Mexican border has me very concerned that some Americans are very uneducated. Even worse we have been so tainted by our Starbucks and SUV's that we fail to notice that people are suffering in other countries. We condemn them because they are born in another country. This is a choice that they had no control over. My question is does someone have a real, ethical solution that could work to the benefit of the American people and to the native born Mexican people who want to lift their families from the depths of poverty.

Keep in mind that when many of our ancestors came to America they looked to escape poverty. Some came with their entire families seeking refuge from political chaos and corruption. America has been a symbol of hope for many who live in desperation.

well the solution is not simple but it is far away from what some people propose because they never been in the same situation .

they do not seem to understand than because we are the most powerful country on the world we also need to be the most humanitarian and than we had been the ones which had benefit the most from their poverty . there is so many ways in which we as a country take advantage of them , but many of us ignore this fact or chose to ignore it . we usually do not pay them fairly for their products , we make deals with them and then help our own so much than they have not chance in competing against us .

the solution as hard as it may seem is not to try to make sure they do not get medical help or to make sure they all get deported . the solution is to help those who are already here and to help them develop the places from which they come from . it is only by stopping being unfair when doing business with them and at the same time ask others like China to stop doing the same to us . it is by being tolerant and by trying to understand their situation which is far worst to what most of us had ever lived .

sadly there is groups between us who call themselves patrios while calling anyone who disagrees with them unpatriot and do not offer any real solutions . they do not care about those who care for real and do not brag about it . people who are also Americans and travel all over the world with the desire to help . they ratter be on TV than getting their hands dirty while helping another human being . once again such groups are far away from a solution . hopefully the good spirit of America even with all the unjustice on us will triumph over those who only give a bad name to us .

I can see where you're coming from and unfortunately there are no one size fits all solutions to this problem. One thing about this immigration issue that kills me is the fact that only one particular group is being targeted (Latinos), I mean even my mother has been questioned on whether she's a citizen or not, (and she was born here by the way) and you know damn well that there are more than just Latino illegal immigrants here. On the other hand, you look at the number of people on government support right now and you think to yourself "Can we support anymore families from other countries when we can barely support our own?", you look at how over flooded our public schools are, and the poverty here even though we're not a third world country, it's a problem that's going to take years to fix. I think that if you want to make a better living for yourself and your family in this country, you should do it legally, and I fully understand that our ancestors were all immigrants at one point, I also know that the population was not as large and they did not have the same problems we face today in this country.

First and for most you need to get out of that house. You need to find an adult that can really help you. Maybe your best friend's mom. Someone anyone. And you need to start saving money.. Any change around the house you save that and keep it in case on day you do leave the house you can have that and if you do decide to leave the house you tell someone you can trust. Your home schooled.. I think you should try to get into public school somehow. And you can call cps and they can help you out without telling your mom. But they will take you and your siblings away. Just stay safe and keep away from the negativity in your home. Keep your head up and try not to cut anymore. I hope you can find help, you will be in my prayers tonight..

Perhaps you could use a tad more education on reality.
My ancestors came to the then "New World" in 1702,they were not poor or escaping poverty. They were merchants looking to expand their holdings. They came from Germany and established their businesses in the soon to be nation. They were legal because there were no laws at that time against immigration..
Speaking of poverty ,the country that most.not all.the illegal aliens come from is Mexico.Mexico is not a poor country,it is rich in oil, minerals etc.The corruption of its government is why some live in poverty while other live in wanton luxury. The disparity in wealth has to do with the government not helping its own people. They instead encourage their poorest to go to the US by crossing the border illegally.Out of the population of the worlds country's.there are 83% more nation with poverty more prevalent than Mexico.
The immigrants that came to this great nation came with open minds and hearts, they were grateful and respected this nation ,its symbols and its legal citizens. They didn't desecrate our flag and call our people names ,they assimilated into the American way .They became Americans.
Illegal aliens(most) don't want any of that they only want to feed off the teats of our society and give nothing back.
Do I feel compassion,in some cases I do ,but I respect this nation and its laws more.By the way we have people (legal Americans) living in abject poverty right here in the USA.Wheres your compassion for them?

The main concern has been to tell us the difference in illegal and legal. The illegals are not reading the postings. How is that going to help.I read the postings and I do not care either way. A person trying to become legal is not going in the office and come out legal in 10 minutes.Next answer is I do not care send them back. My answer will be I do care ,do not send them back.
Tomorrow night these same answers will be repeated with of course more cussing and bashing. I forgot the favorite one" it is not racism".Like they really expect us to believe that one.

It is simple, do the sums. There are billions of people around the world in poverty. They can't all move to richer countries.

Let's go beyond country and all us should work to make all countries better.

People have lost their compassion!!! Mexicans aren't people, there Mexicans!! They're trying to sneak in and get a piece of what we have rightfully stolen.

The bottom line is Americans are greedy, selfish, and have no idea what it's like to be born into poverty, war, disease, and famine. They make wages and live a lifestyle that is a damn site better than most of the world and yet complain. It is no more these peoples choice to be born in their country as it was ours to be born in the United States. I can't imagine having to watch my children grow up in such poor conditions. Who can blame them for wanting something better. Wake up Americans and get off you high-horse these are people.

Read Pres. Bush's proposal to deal with immigration. I thought it was a GREAT way to deal with the issue in an adult and moral way. That's probably why nobody liked it and it went nowhere!

Where do we draw the line of giving to the poor? Must we take from our own to give to others? You are the one that seems to be uneducated when you don't think of the fact that a lot of middle class Americans don't have insurance but have no choice but to pay taxes to give insurance to illegal aliens. We uphold the law by paying taxes for people who break our laws by coming here illegally. You must be too young to pay taxes. Please do some research before you make such statements.

My people came here LEGALLY. Maybe there wouldn't be an issue if others did the same.
