i downloaded movies off the internet,but i don't have any software to let me watch them on my computer

I suggest you use VLC Player. It can play almost all of the codecs and media files out there, including broken or partially downloaded ones. Give it a try.

Do you know where you downloaded them to? Make sure you take note of what it says when you're saving the file, or where your browser is set to download.
VLC Media Player will play most video files.
