You need to be 18 to join any branch of service. You can sign up at 17 if your in highschool and you intend on joining when you've graduated. If your choosing between the Army and the Marines I would choose the Marines. I was a Marine brat growing up and my husband joined the Army and of those two the Marines treat their soldiers better. If you have high enough test scores and are just wanting to join the military...go AirForce. They have the best of everything and they are the most family friendly branch of service.

You have to be 18 years old or 17 with parent/guardian consent for all branches, including the Army and Marines. And you could contact your local Marine recruiting station and theyll help you out from there.

You have to be 18 years of age, or 17 with parent's permission, to enlist the United States Armed Forces.
To be a Marine...talk to the Marine recruiter.

Go online and Google on each branch of the service. Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines. You can find the requirements there. And you can read about what each of them offers, so you can make an informed choice about which branch you would prefer to join. Then talk to recruiters from each branch, and listen to what they have to say. Ask any and all questions in your mind about military service. There are vast differences between the branches. Choose carefuly.

I signed up when I was 17, but didn't actually go until I turned 18. You'll still have to take a written test(this will determine what jobs you can apply for) and a physical. Go down to you local recruiter to get all the info.

Just be sure to visit recruiters from all the branches before you make a final decision. Don't feel pressured and get input from family and friends before making a final decision. Best of luck.

I enlisted in the Marine Corp at 17. I had to have my parents permission. That was many moons ago (ok, a few decades).
If you do enlist go USMC.
Don't ask me why, just do it.
