Can a white person join the Nation of Islam?

My first question to you would be...
Why would you or any other white person want to join The Nation? What purpose would it serve? Are you like John Brown? The Nation of Islam is serious; they practice their Religion unlike many Muslims in America that open stores in poor communities and sale pork and strong drink to the poor; and go to prayer on Friday... They practice their religion. You don't like it because they focus on black people. You don't understand.

For those who Quote Malcolm, when Brother Malcolm got back from Mecca, he said in an interview that..."white people can help us but they can not join us." He continued on to say that "there can be no Black/White unity until there is first some Black unity." He said: "we can not try and be acceptable to white people until we are first acceptable to ourselves."

Malcolm knew the disadvantages of allowing white people into our organizations and the Nation of Islam knows it today. No. You cannot join the NOI. There are many reasons that white people are not allowed into the Nation and none of them are because of Hate or "Racism."

Hey, I am a Muslim and the Majority of Muslims think that nation of Islam is a useless, or even hurtful organization. It doesn't have anything to do with religion. That is why Martin Luther King left it. As for Cat Stevens I dont think he joined the nation of Islam.

There are better Muslims organizations all around north America that you can join with out being Muslim, if you are lending a helping hand.

The question is neither clear nor correct. There is not an ISLAMIC NATION, so that one can decide to join today and do it tomorrow. A Nation is term related to a TERRITORY (not even to the ethinc origin) and has nothing to do with any religion whatsoever. Thus a proper question should be: Can a white person join the Islamic confession? Then the answer is: YES, for example Bosniaks, Goranci, Pomacs (very white, blue-eyed, Slavic groups in SE Europe), Albanians, Chechens.......

Malcolm X, after travelling to Mecca, seen the beauty of true Islamic Monotheism, so after as for joining a racial sect I would advise against it. You should check out your local mosque lots of different ethnicities to be found.

[057:001] Whatsoever is in the heavens and the earth glorifies God, and He is the All-Mighty, the All-Wise.

[057:002] His is the kingdom of the heavens and the earth. It is He Who gives life and causes death; and He is Able to do all things.

[057:003] He is the First (nothing is before Him) and the Last (nothing is after Him), the Most High (nothing is above Him) and the Most Near (nothing is nearer than Him). And He is All-Knower of every thing.

[057:004] He it is Who created the heavens and the earth in six Days and then rose over (Istawâ) the Throne (in a manner that suits His Majesty). He knows what goes into the earth and what comes forth from it, and what descends from the heaven and what ascends thereto. And He is with you (by His Knowledge) wheresoever you may be. And God is All-Seer of what you do.

[057:009] It is He Who sends down manifest Ayât (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) to His slave (Muhammad [Peace Be Upon Him]) that He may bring you out from darkness into light. And verily, God is to you full of kindness, Most Merciful.

[057:010] And what is the matter with you that you spend not in the Cause of God? And to God belongs the heritage of the heavens and the earth. Not equal among you are those who spent and fought before the conquering (of Makkah, with those among you who did so later). Such are higher in degree than those who spent and fought afterwards. But to all God has promised the best (reward). And God is Well-Acquainted with what you do.

[057:011] Who is he that will lend God a goodly loan, then (God) will increase it manifold to his credit (in repaying), and he will have (besides) a good reward (i.e. Paradise)?
