Hey ya'll... i'm 20 - almost 21, and i have streaks of gray hair. My mom got gray hair early on too. Is it normal for a 20 year old to have some streaks of gray? It pisses me off - i'm 20 and i'm getting gray hair. So, is it normal? Anyone else get gray early on? Should i dye my hair when it gets to be worse, or leave it? If you do dye your hair with - let's say Just For Men... does this cause your hair to fall out?

The thing is, i could dye it - but that goes against what i believe in. I'm in a dilemma... dye my hair in a few years because society looks down at it... or stay natural and say i dont care what society thinks of me....

damn social expectations...

Another thing - does dying your hair cause baldness? When you dye your hair, can people tell that you dye it?

I know someone that was like 16 and had grey hair. It happens to some people... its probably a hereditary thing. I wouldnt see anything wrong with coloring it, if you wanted to. Its totally your choice. I dont know about Just For Men. I've seen it on TV and in stores and stuff but I really dont know how well that stuff works. My pop-pop and boyfriend's dad color their own hair. They just get box color at the store, but that isnt as good as the color you would get a Sally's Beauty Supply store, or get it done at a salon.

Some people get gray hair as early as middle school years! This is hereditary and runs in families. There is no treatment for it. All you can do is color it. No, your hair will not fall out if you color it! People get their hair colored each month for 50 years and still have heads full of hair. However, some brands of color stay on longer; others shorter, and you will have to do the touch-ups more often with them. I don't know for how long Just For Men stays in the hair. You need to try it and see.

My husband got his first gray hair at 13!! He is now 23 and has more gray hair than his father. I've been told that it is a copper deficiency. I keep telling my husband he needs to eat pennies! LoL! If you don't like the gray, by all means, dye it. But if you don't mind it, then don't. It is all up to your. My husband has people all the time asking where he got his "hair done at". And he has to say it's natural.

Point being...it's all up to you.

Nope only if you dye it alot where ur eyebrows do not match. Then you can tell if someone dyed their hair or not totally. Dying your hair isnt bad just in 5 months your going to have to get it dontagain if you want it to stay likethat. It dosne't cause hair losssso whatever and best of luck.

well i think it's genes more likely! it happens to people all the time! my godmother had the same issue in her 20's. she had long streaks of grey hair as long as i've known her! she never dyed it at all and it looks so nice on her! she looks gorgoeus with the grey! Some people don't like it and some do! if you want to dye it go ahead and do it! at on epoint in your life your gonna have to accept the fact that you have grey hair! So just take it easy and relax! life is too short to worry about thisngs we can't fix!

Hair dye can cause hair loss if you don't do it right or get an allergic reaction. I heard that coconut oil darkens hair and prevents graying. You massage it on your scalp.

When my uncle was 19 his thick black hair turned comepletely silver with in about 1 month. There is documented evidence that shows men in the philipiens have suddenly overnight had their hair turn completely white. No one really knows why it happens to them.
