Sort of. Catholic men who are not married can join a religious community of brothers, who live very similarly to nuns.

They take vows of poverty, chastity, and obedience; and they live lives of prayer and service, as nuns do.

In Ukrainian there are no "Nuns" The term is either sister or brother, and generally the word "Monk" for men and "Monkena" for women. Sounds alot like "monkey" doesn't it? but the "K" sound is soft like an "h" sound. The word is spelled with an "x" where the "k" should be. (Monx and Monxena)

Clear as mud? Being a monk or a nun is much stricter life than a priest.

Yes, any one can be a Nun.

If I call myself a nun then I am a nun. Its up to you. How Ever Society wouldn't accept males as nuns though ( I Think )

No, but women can be monks. In the Orthodox church both men and women are called monks. In the Western church male religious are either Friars or Monks. Women religious are either Sisters or Nuns. Friars and Sister are non-cloistered orders. Monks and Nuns are cloistered. Also a male religious can also be a priest, but many are not. And most priest are what is called "secular priest" as strange as that sounds. it means that they are not a member of a religious order. And in the Episcopal chruch we have women priest who can also be members of relgious orders.

No, they can only be priest. Or just plain lay apostolate. Nuns are for women. It is a female term. Nuns are different from priest. Just like women are different from men. =)

As far as I know, they can't. At least in Christianity they can't. They can be monks or priests. However, in India transgendered males have special roles in society and it may be possible that such a man could be a nun in one of the traditions over there.
