I'm not talking about what the media tells you to think. And don't say anything about our current war and president. I am talking about what your religion (just religion) thinks about the military and what we stand for/ do for a living. (No, the military is not about killing people. Keep in mind you can do just about any civilian job in the military as well- doctor, dentist, computer tech, etc)
Do you have an opposite oppinion about the military than your religion? I heard some religion don't like the military or support the troops... why?
Please don't say we kill innocent kids, we try to start wars for oil, etc. Just forget about the current issues in the news.

First of all thank you for your interest in other religions. Sorry, but I have to say this: I hope that the western media will be more open minded and tackle the issues that you mentioned, so that we will not have good people fighting for bad causes.
As for Islam, Military is seen as a necessary part of a country and each country has a right to have it, unless they abuse it then there should be measures in place so that the country does not repeat this. About war it is believed that a Muslims should never wish for a war or if there already is a conflict or tension then the Muslims should not wish for the conflict to accelerate regardless if they are powerful or weak and try to solve it. However, if the war is forced upon the Muslims then they are told to be brave and fight only who bear arms, if someone, in the middle of fighting throws his weapons and wants peace then you put him under your arrest at that moment. And when you do not have fear of war anymore you can let him go free. This is because if you don't put the person under arrest and just let him roam free in the time of the war or in your camp he might be a spy and kill you when you are unsuspecting.
Also, when in war Muslims are commanded to use the least painful measures of killings and are forbidden from humiliation or mutilation of the enemy. Muslims do not believe in massacres if they have overpowered the enemy, this is seen again and again in Muslim history specially at the conquests of Jerusalem. Pre-Emptive strike is allowed but only if you have clear proof that the enemy is gathering an army/ ready to launch an attack to demolish you.
As for prisoners of war, they are to be treated with dignity. Muslims in the early time allowed some prisoners to teach the Muslim children various trades e.t.c. in order to earn their freedom, other were traded for Muslim prisoners. If a prisoner promises not to fight an unjust war against you, you can let him go without ransom; a lot of early Muslims did this. However if the same person is captured again fighting against you, he can be tried for treason.
I am no scholar so I can have mistakes here, so I ask forgiveness of God for my mistakes. But as Muslims we are forbidden to lie, so I have told you what is accepted in Islam.
Also, it is highly recommended in Islam to carry out interventions against tyranny and inequality and they don't mind having other groups from other faiths fighting along them in a just cause. However, if the Muslim army it self is killing someone unjustly, and there are always some people who are bad, so then the Muslims must stand up against the injustice. Good Muslims have always fought against right regardless of who its for and against. The Muslims have lost their way in the past century; however, hopefully they can once against gain their place among the great civilization as they once were.
It is said in Islam: The one who safes one lives is like the one who safes a Civilization and the one who destroys a life unjustly has destroyed a Civlization. The one who takes a life unjustly is condemned to hell, even if he is a Muslim.

My Church supports peace, but an army to fight in defensive wars is as acceptable and necessary as police and justice (by which I understand courts and prisons).
In the Liturgy there are more prayers for the peace of the world (three or four times) than for the armed troops of the nation (I think only once). That says it all, I suppose.

Nope. I'm not told anything. No one really tells me what to believe because I'm an individual. That means I'm free from the spoken laws of religious big wigs. A lot of the people I know have congratulated me or thanked mefor my bravery of voluntarily risking my life to fight in a war. Not too many people have seen what I have seen, but to those who are against the military, you don't know what pain and anguish the Army goes through on a regular basis. Literally, their best friend's arm gets blown off and they have to live with it for the rest of their life.

no longer honest. unlawful in my estimation. that's because of the fact the militia pension isn't sources. it won't be able to be offered. it won't be able to be left to a minimum of one's heirs. it won't be able to legally be assigned to a diverse individual. So, it does not meet the definition of sources as defined interior the Uniformed commercial Code. much extra galling is the case which brought about this regulation to be surpassed. A occupation military physician replaced into sued by utilising his ex-spouse for 0.5 of his pension because of the fact she had to bear the hardships of his occupation. For 14 of the sixteen years they have been married, he replaced into assigned to Letterman military scientific midsection in San Francisco with quarters on placed up! some worry....

He who raises sword to defend those of his family will be protected by honor and by faith.
He who raises sword to attack and kill for any reason is evil.
These are a few of our writings.
We do not allow our children or our families to join any group with a purpose to kill. Our children can join the army and defend this nation from attack. Only males and only by their personal choice.
There are other riders within the Tianic faith. Our Priests and Priestesses can not go to war. They can not bless the children that fight. They by no means of action, thought or inaction cause harm. You will not find a Tianic warrior asking for blessing, he knows that by arming himself and firing at anyone he has doomed himself. Our Daughters are not allowed in the military for any reason. They are the womb of the faith and in that, are priceless.
We as a people use our faith for good. Should a soldier fall in our midst he will be healed. Of course there are only 49,000 Tianice known of by our order. Chances of meeting one are slim.
Any man or woman that raises arms is safe and defended by the Tianice. You for instance would be healed fed and set safely back with your unit. You would leave our temples or homes as safely as we can make possible.
Though we don't believe in war as a fix for anything, we do refuse to allow a human being to die because he or she is a warrior.
As far as our belief in the government.
If a herd gets to large it can not be watched or defended. Any herder will tell you that. A Government already has to big of a herd. They over see the herd poorly. Our faith dictates that each child be fed and that each child be warm. We see to that without question. We impress on our own that No child be harmed or cold or hurt from hunger. Governments don't care and if they do they are bleeding heart liberals or some other hurtful name.
So. The Tianic faith is not respected within many governments. The United States Tolerates us. Great Britain refuses our existence. The British problem goes way back though.
As a clanish society we can live well without them. We don't involve ourselves with governments. "If you live in the den of evil, you will become evil" We don't go there.
As a society we do help others not of our faith. We don't require they join us for anything or any reason. We feed, clothe and help, with open hands and no strings.
We help people because they are people. Be they warrior, wench, or republican. Our laws are strict we are not allowed to interfere with other lives, faiths or ideals.

My religion doesn't have an opinion about that.
There are Pagans who embrace the warrior culture, and there are pacifist Pagans.
