it isn't that hard. you do not have to do it out loud, and you can do other things while you are doing it. it takes a little practice but it is easy to catch on to, try doing it for 15 seconds, and go from there.

If you were a Christian, you would have known the answer, thus Christians must provide a reply. God has given a free will to all man, to chose between good and bad, right and wrong. It is up to you to choose what you need!! One should pray, one should go to church and one should communicate with Lord. But you will decide yourself either to do it when you should do it or only when you need it, and bear the consequencies, of course.
For a sincere and good-willing person even a hard and devoted work (or even our everyday job) is a good enough prayer to Our Lord.

Just like any relationship, it takes communication. Prayer is not habit or ritual, it is a necessary gift that God has given to us to have direct communion with Him though Jesus Christ. Prayer is not all verbal. God knows the heart and when it cries out or gives praise. Be careful not to be legalistic on prayer, for noone can tell you when and how to pray. For when you accepted Christ, His spirit entered you and intercedes for you. If it doesn't feel right or come naturally continue to seek after God through His Word (which is the other half of this communication).

1 Thess 5:17 - pray without ceasing
Ep 6:18 - praying always with all prayers and supplication in the Spirit.
1 Cor 14:18 - I thank my God I speak with tongues more than you all.
The 3 scriptures from the New Testament encourage us to pray as often as possible. The only possible way to pray for any extended time is to pray in tongues or in the Spirit. If we try to pray in a known language we run short of words to pray however when we pray in tongues or the Spirit it is the Holy Spirit Who gives us the utterances in unknown tongues or in God's prayer language. Yes pray as often as you can especially in tongues and you will receive the spirit of power (gifts of the Spirit), of love (fruit of the Spirit) and of a sound mind (the mind of Christ) - 2Tim 1:7

ok, first off, let me on the behalf of the yahoo users apoligize for the rather expliscide use of language, for instance the first person that posted. Secondly, God didn't order us to pray every second of the day. He simply asked that we be sorry for our sins, and ask for forgiveness. Think of praying as like the hotline to heaven, free long distance in a way. You can call your Heavenly father whenever you want. You don't have to call him all the time, but he always likes to hear how you are doing.
As for admitting your sins, thats the directors cut, you get your sins forgiven by simply asking, not to hard, if you ask me. Praying is something you do from the heart, not from the mouth... I like to think of myself as always intouch with God, I don't have to have my eyes shut and my mouth open, I simply have to speak to him. There is a story Jesus told about two men that prayed. One was loud and noisy, and tried to draw peoples eye by bragging while he prayed. Then there was a sinner, not a good man, but a man that truely wanted to be forgiven... he got down on his knees and silently whispered to God. Guess what...God rewarded the humble man, but displended the loud one. God tells us that praying comes from your heart, not your mouth. So to answer your question...no I don't think you have to pray every minute of the day...but for your sins, I always try and ask for forgiveness, come on...it is free long distance straight to the Master's table... Who doesn't wanna call home once in a while? ;-)
God bless you, and merry Christmas

Well, yes if you want to adhere to the beliefs in Christianity. But for me personally, there's no point in praying every time if you're going to do it just for the sake of it and not sincerely and meaning avery prayer you say.

My boyfriend and I have a ritual. This is a secret, yet I am telling you all.
We sin all the time. We sin, then we take a "shower of shame" to cleanse us, then we find ourselves back in bed committing yet another dirty filthy sin, which takes us back to the shower. Hard as we try, we cannot seem to cleanse our souls or our bodies fully of the sin.
We thought if we took the shower of shame separately, we might do better that way. But, we do hate to waste water, so after much discussion and deliberation and careful thought, but not too much prayer, we just stopped trying to stay so damn clean.
We're blissfully happy. We have decided we're not going to have premarital sex. We can't, because we're not going to get married. "Pre" means before.
I hope you get your conscience clean there, buddy.

NO!!! The life of a true Christian is not a life of all prayer. We do need to pray because we owe it to God to talk to him, praise Him, thank Him. The life of a True Christian is a life of sacrifice... others before oneself. Besides, It's not all about just faith because prayers and faith do not work without good works and avoidance of sin. God also want us not to be neglectful of our duties as well. To be a good Christian, you need to pray everytime. But to be the best Christian you could be, obey the commandments, do good to others, avoid sin love God above all, have faith and love your brothers and sisters..... God bless You!

I believe that you should but, you should not pray because you feel you are obligated to pray. The reason we pray is to talk directly with god. If there is something you need to ask of him, thank him for, ask forgiveness of, you should pray.
