Because most people are brainwashed tools, is what it boils down to. The corporate-controlled media has them right where they want them.

Its called spin, in some counties it would be called proganada. Now your papers however "free", now if everytime a US soldier dies in iraqi made front page news everytime it happen the people would have taken not so long to be against the war or to change there minds. By shoving the story of stupid deaths by climbers and US soldiers die yet again to B12, you goverment through the papers have in a way fused the story on way you should not be there in the first place.

Its not new news that soldiers are dying everyday. Soldiers have been dying since the beginning of time. You tell me was there ever a time when some country somewhere was not fighting? Why should we care more for US soldiers? What about innocent people?? British soldiers? Canadian Soldiers?

The powers that be have no problem sending people to their deaths.
Why not ask them a question? What would it take to stop all fighting? Then ask them would they support that? Who benefits from war anyhow? Have you ever asked that? Do you want to know the real answer or are you brain damaged by the media like most everyone else.

I suggest you study and read and learn only then will you know the truth and perhaps along your journey you will become lost and friends will miss you and become worried and others will care and help look for you.

Because this is exciting. Everyone is rooting for their safe rescue. Unfortunately, one was found dead, but there is a chance though now a slim chance that the other two will be found alive. The soldiers don't get front page headlines because there are thousands of them that die in routine ways not dramatic. Just like thousand of people die every year in auto accidents. No drama. Inevitable. Once a war starts the deaths are inevitable. Generals just want to minimize deaths.

It's because those climber were rich white males.

It's also because, people don't really care as much as they claim about the troops in Iraq. If they did, each time a soldier died, he wouldn't be news on the last freaking page of the paper, but closer to the front.

Oh, and some people view the soldiers as 'less educated' and a lot of the soldiers are not rich white males.

well buddy, you just didn't go to mba school and you sure are not an Einstein in finance. the news business is about advertising. that is where the money comes from. getting the idea now? as they use to say, the idea is to sell newspapers. with electronic "journalism" (whatever that is nowadays?) needs to pull an audience to get money from -- you get it now! -- the advertisors. Toyota, Snickers, Sony, Toys R Us, etc. etcc. Gotta make some dough, right? The war story goes on and on and on and on. Twenty or 30 blown up? What the hell, the fruitcake freezing on the mountain makes a little melodrama with a literal cliffhanger ending each day. Business. Get it?

My guess is because soldiers are a little more expected to have their life cut short, than a recreational climber who leaves his family for a day trip or whatever and doesnt come home- and his family starts calling for help, and it ends up on the news.
Soldiers, unfortunatley, are more expected to be killed/injured because they sign up for it.

I am not nearly as ticked about that as I am that I am getting half assed medical care for my service connected problem. I gave 100% but now when it is their turn I can not get even as good care as a person on medicaid that never served.
Those elitest bums are the ones who benefit from the fighting and then they dump us until the next burr they get under their saddle. Tell you Rep. keep writing til they change this crapp.
