Rough outline
North to Machu Pichu, it will be the most physically draining due to altitude
Next to Iguacu Falls
Next to Buenos Aires
Then perhaps south to Tierra Del Fuego
Last north again to Santiago

The south of Chile is a little to cold to enjoy at that time. I would take a bus to Mendoza, then to Buenos Aires and then go to Foz do Iguazu. If you want to go to Machu PIchu. I would do that first or from Santiago because the flights from Santiago to Lima round trip are more reasonable. Lima to Cusco. It is better to do it that way than Buenos Aires to Lima.

You should visit Buenos Aires, Iguazu Falls, Mendoza and Ushuaia which is the most southern city of the world and unique sea food, it´s only three hours flight from Buenos Aires.

A couple other places to consider might be Cartagena, Colombia and Rio, Brazil.
