No. There have been many women who have entered the convent to become nuns after their husbands die & their children are out of the house. In fact, I read an article about this in Time magazine this past month.

Also, many women enter the convent after experiencing the "outside" world for only a short time.

Celibacy is a vow taken once they are nuns (or a noviate - someone in the process of becoming a nun).

No.....there are some women who become nuns after they've been widowed.

Also since women don't become nuns as young as they used to some of them aren't virgins when the make the decision to become a nun.

No some join after having fun. I like nuns all that build up aggression. I Should do some charity work to be around them.

No, they must take a vow of chastity when they become nuns however, they do not have to be virgins to become nuns.

Not all are. Some used to be married, and entered the religious life after their husbands died, or after their marriages ended in divorce and then were annuled by the Church.

And some used to lead a different lifestyle -- which may have involved sexual activity -- prior to becoming more devout Catholics and then entering the religious life.

NO. They have to take a vow of celibacy to join, but they needn't be virgins when they take the vow. And of course taking the vow and keeping the vow are two different things.
