If it wasn't for America none of them would even have that sovereignty. Do you realize that it was America and Europe who created Iraq and Jordan. You forget that in WW2 it was America that saved Europe and rest of the world from Nazism. Also remember that it was America that helped fight the spread of Communism. Now if you understand what the threat of communism is, imagine living in North Korea, which is a lot closer to the communist model then China. I heard on the news once that EVERY MALE in North Korea had to get a haircut that was similar to Kim Ill2. I understand that America has taken the wrong course in some situations but you have to look at the leadership, there aren't many quality leaders in American politics or any politics for that matter. Iran uses Hezbollah to attack Israel, you don't' think that is freaking bullying or are you one of those people who chants death to Israel. Also realize that America said millions of dollars in aid to North Korea, Pakistan, Afghanistan, and pretty much every country. I think we should stop aiding most people and just stop doing business with shady people and stay out of things unless they concern our safety as a country. The problem is then all the countries of the world will blame us for not sending aid and helping. Its a lose lose situation.

Because the rest of the world expects and demands that we do so. They hate us for it, but they expect us to be there when they need help. And no other country will take on such a heavy role. As an American I would much prefer that such a huge burden would be taken on by another country or countries, and I think most Americans feel the same way. We would much rather live our own lives and let the rest of the world take care of their own problems.

That's a wonderful question and the answer has been the same since the beginning of recorded time. The world super-power will always be the "world police" for that current time period. Proof in point, Rome, Britain, and now the US.

We prefer not to, believe that or not, but when the world is in trouble, who do they come crawling to for money and protection, America. Im in the army, i would prefer to stay home and work on our own problems, but that is not how this life is working. I am made to go fix issues in the worst parts of the world, iraq! They don't want us there, we don't want to be there, but you know how things work. Don't worry, i do my duty and protect everyone in this whole world, its cool.

If we didn't, we would not be safe from these people. With countries like those, we must make our presence felt because the only thing they respect is power, and we have that. The second you give in a little bit is when the rest of them start testing us as well. This is what must be done when you are on top. Things are hard when the entire world is jealous of you. We must prove that we are who they think we are or they will slowly leech our strength away.

It's because the United States is the most powerful and influential nation in the world.

In order to keep that status, the U.S. needs to be involved in activities throughout the world to protect its interests.

Do you really want to know? Of course there are highly charged opinions such as those I have that seem obvious to me - imperialism, a legacy of colonial control and today so blantantly PROFIT Of giant corporations particularly oil, weapons manufacture, chemicals - its scary!
Check out the film WHY WE FIGHT which just won grand jury prize at sundance - its very good if you want to understand an answer to your question and out on DVD now

To keep you safe. : ) Do you really want rogue nations like Iran and North Korea going nuclear? Either way it doesn't matter, we're going to do our best to make sure they don't for the safety of the world at large. Why doesn't the world stop us? Because it sees wisdom at work in what the US is doing and they can't afford to do it themselves.

I do not consider defendig the right to life as bullying...I have been to the middle east, seen over 1000 people in graves, these are not boy scouts...they are insane killers...personally I am not comfortable with them...groow up...really, gorw up,
