Apparently, they are all wrong. The dumb priest, I'm afraid, will always be dumb. Hopefully, the science teacher will learn that humans and apes share a common primate ancestor, but since then it has taken apes the same amount of time to evolve to what they are as it has humans to evolve to what we are.

Man, this -
]] "If you stay in a clean white room all day and wear all
]] white, if you sweat and wipe your face, you'll still get a little
]] dirt smudge on a cloth because of our origins."
- is the funniest and wildest thing I have ever heard. If you made it up yourself, you are a friggin’ genius, and funnier than Lewis Black.

The ingredients, environment, and biochemical processes necessary to cross that fuzzy line between ‘non-living’ and ‘living’ molecules are reasonably well understood.
There is no scientific hypothesis suggesting that chaos turns to order or simplicity to complexity in an instant (or even six or seven days, or 6000 years).
The ‘odds’ you speak of are not that great, certainly not as great as the odds of life not emerging and evolving on Earth. Based on what we know today, it would be a greater mystery HAD LIFE NOT DEVELOPED ON EARTH. It is more likely, reasonable, and expected that life would develop, not the other way around.

one dumb priest, one science teacher with blinders on, and one priest that at least knows the first two chapters of Genesis.
Learn from your science teacher HOW to answer questions on tests and exams so you can pass your courses. And then do true science, including the weaknesses of what "science" says.
Learn from a helpful minister/priest/rabbi as to WHAT the Bible actually says. Decide whether you can believe what God has said; I mean, when you stand at the Pearly Gates you will be asked the most important question ever ... God asks "why should I let YOU into MY heaven". [Well, actually it may not happen quite like that, but what you believe will determine where you spend eternity.]

Dont believe either of them. You are right about one thing though...your preacher is ignorant (and the teacher too) Go on the internet and read about evolution and find out how it was proven to be IMPOSSIBLE. Scholars figured this out in the 70's...maybe even before then!! And Adam and Eve were formed out of the dust of the ground...THEN everyone else came from them. Its in Genesis if u wanna read it. Think about it...when we die we turn right back into dirt..so to speak. If you stay in a clean white room all day and wear all white, if you sweat and wipe your face, you'll still get a little dirt smudge on a cloth because of our origins. Im rambling a little but do you see my point? I hope i was able to help. Many people dont know that they have to ask the Jews. Understanding goes to the Jew first, thats in the bible too.

Both your science teacher and your priest are wrong. We did not come from apes, nor did we come from clay balls. We didn't come from Adam and Eve either.
Both humans and apes descended from a common ancestor. Humans branched off from one part of the ancestral tree, while apes branched off from another part.

If you really want an answer you need to study the concepts and parables. Understand what clay stands for and the allegorical of Adam and Eve. I would suggest deep Jewish study to understand this more. Talmud and maybe the Zohar can help you understand what is not going to be literal to you.

I am Jewish and I would NEVER call any clergyman dumb. He went through seminary just as your teacher did. You answered your own question by the words used to explain both your priest and teacher. You already believe your teacher. If that works for you good enough, It does not work for me

If you accept that we evolved without intelligent design please consider the odds against order coming out of chaos. Something as complex as the human body evolve from primordial ooze?
