NO, IT ISNT. Brown is telling us that 21 centuries of beliefs mean nothing, that everything is a lie, that Jesus was a simple man, who got married and had a child, and on what is he basing all this madness? Well, in a painting created by a MAN, da Vinci, just because he sees a woman beside Jesus in the Last Supper, he is already saying that she is Mary Magdalene and then created a whole story from all that, but the thing is that Brown does not have any proof of what he is saying, and all those documents that he claims to exist to prove it, are just invisible, or gnostic Evangelia, that are even more unaccurate.
If you still have doubts you can consult a few sites related to this issue, and there you 'll find all the truth.
The da vinci code is a great thriller, but nothing else, if you expect to learn history from it, you'll get confused, believe me.

Dan Brown done a lot of research before he wrote the book.
It is fictional he said from the start, but there are some truth in it as far as he took it. The secret societies, the places where history told about some facts about the plot.
Emperor Constantine history in his book he mentioned is truth,
The info about Jesus and Mary Magdalene is truth the bible even mentions how his association with her was close, John 20 : 16-17. Also the book of Philip mentions too the close association they had, also the book of Magdalene tells why they married.
The Jewish law at that time said that a teacher of the law Had to be married.
Mary Magdalene was pregnant when she was at the cross or stake after which she was escorted out to another local and finally in another country where they helped deliver her child.
The catholic church as time went by...tried to hide these facts but through history the protectors of these facts hid these facts in mysterious ways...one was L. Davinci, in his paintings.
Victor Hugo was another, many others in history were part of the protectors of this truth of Jesus and Mary Magdelene. I will say it is 60% truth 40% fiction.
Peace.......

Some of the parts are true; others are false. The places mentioned in the book are true. What's also true is the fact about the Emperor Constantine's influence over the spread of Christianity. However, it is not true that Jesus and Mary Magdalene had a child together.

Go look at the the jacket of the book in a book store, the literary category says "fiction." It was written as a work of fiction. So why have so many people gotten upset over what the author himself puts forth as work of fiction?

Please send me a copy by email the readable portion - not picture. I would say the background and the truth behind it.
One thing from you is clear, Lord is lord and human is superior on the universe, living in searth of pleasure. But when one is satisfied with the worldly life, he would search more and reach to God and the expressions comes out of him would be superior.
'Bhagavat Gita' says that "whenever you listen something inhuman action, understand that my presence is there" Such is He. Religion has nothing to do with God, but to bind the society to live according to the environment. What we see as religion is not the religion (imaging, if there is only one religion?!). Coy of Davin Ci Code may be sent to 'mvarma6 at yahoo dot com' Thanks

No. It is a made up fictional story. Even the author admits this. The whole concept of it being true and challenging the Roman Catholic Church is a lot of fuss about nothing.
