It would be perfectly fine to ask him out, and you shouldn't even be nervous cuz you already know he's interested

Just call and say what you just said that you were busy but now you're not and that if the offer still stands you would like to go on a date with him. Maybe it would be nice if you cooked or if you treated him to dinner. There is nothing wrong with a lady paying every once a while. This will let him know that you really care.
