If you want to match it up with the PS3...You'll want one of the new ones that have 1080p, if you can, I think plasma gives the best picture.

Plasma's each and each of ways... extra moderen Plasma's are actually not companies to burn outs (reveal burn).... the main benefit with a Plasma is that the image refresh time is under LCDs... this means that the image on liquid crystal reveal refreshes slowly and for this reason ghosting (blurring in layman's english) is seen for prompt shifting pictures. it extremely is a real concern often times reason video games often have quickly action and the image blurring is the extra serious component which could ensue to you.... i in my opinion very own a forty two" Hitachi Plasma and function under no circumstances suffered reveal burnouts. I surely have frozen the photograph for 3-4 hours and nevertheless not something of that variety. As I stated, reveal burnouts are a component of the previous with Plasmas.. I even very own a 37" Sony liquid crystal reveal and the image on the Plasma is a lot extra suitable with deeper colour and larger assessment. in spite of the reality that the extra moderen LCDs with LED technologies have decreased refresh expenses and more suitable photograph high quality, they're extremely costly.. I say save on with the Plasma and luxuriate interior the video games... Boy the photos look jaw dropping... try Killzone 2 on it... I cried when I first observed it... it extremely is that beautiful.

LCD or Plasma can both have great pictures. If you have a PS3, make sure you get a TV with HDMI input and 1080p resolution. That way you'll be able to take advantage of the true high definition picture.

Just like always, the best have the highest price.

DLP and Projection are cheap. You will need 4 strong men to lift a large screen DLP box.

Sony dropped all plasma TV's and only sells LCD. Maybe they know somthing.

The latest bleeding edge is 1080p.

Like everybody else, you will weigh value vs bleeding edge and ridiculous prices.

I just went thru this, just pick the one that looks good to you and meets your price point.

I went 42 inch LG LCD for the 2 year warranty and great picture.

Well to use a PS3 to its full potential, you need to use it on a 1080P system, otherwise it has do downgrade the signal and lose resolution. So if you want a really good system for a cheaper price, go for the LCOS based systems either by Sony (SXRD) or JVC (HD-ILA) both systems are fully 1080P compatible, they also both give you the best refresh rates for games (less than 1 millisec).

Other than that you would need to go LCD, as currently there are no true 1080P plasma systems in the 40inch size. 1080P panels are the Sony, Samsung and Sharp models.
