One night, my stupid boyfriend made me laugh so hard that I almost choked on my Slurpee. I've had my airway obstructed before, but this was the worst experience with it that I ever had. Even after I had dislodged the ice and syrup from my windpipe, my throat STILL hurt and it FELT like something was still caught in it. I had never had that sensation before last night, even though this was definitely not the first time that I had something stuck in my throat. I don't remember how long this lasted, but it was much longer than I would have expected....at least a few minutes, maybe more.

Can anyone explain...?

Air was getting through....it just felt like something was lodged in my throat, and it hurt.

It's a possibility since it went down the wrong way, it irritated the inside of your esophogus and it may have gotten swollen and that's why it still felt that way.

your throat got irritated and sometimes that area will swell a tiny bit thus making it feel like there is something still there.

the muscles of the choking reflex/gag reflex likely went into spasm.
