According to the Midrash (oral tradition) Noah was given 120 years to build the Ark. In this time, he not only planted and grew the trees that went into the Ark, but he had time to design it from the book that God had given him. Yes, according to legend, he had divine help and why not? If God wanted him saved, why wouldn't God have aided a righteous man? The book was called The Emerald Tablet. After the trees were grown (Gopher wood), cut and made ready for the building, the construction phase began. The boat WAS square or pretty close. It was dead on 100 yards long and was constructed in length, bredth and height to be almost impossible to turn over. According to researchers, it would have taken a wave of almost 180 degrees straight up and down to tip the boat over, it was built so well to prevent it from capsizing. People believe that because something was done thousands of years ago, it couldn't POSSIBLY be done to modern standards, but what they forget is that even the Pyramids are BEYOND todays modern building techniques.
As far as the animals go, not EVERY species had to be on the boat, many would have been fine, burrowing and hibernating in holes, covered as not to drown. The rest could have come to Noah through a sense of migration or even been led. Remember, that at the time of Christ there were only two breed of dogs, the Basenji was one of them. It was not until the 14th century that dog breeding took off, creating all the different breeds we know today. The same is true for cats, cattle, etc., so the animals then were not so diverse.

Some christian scientists said that the "world" that the bible describes might not be the "whole world" but probably JUST "NOAHs part of the world"
these scientists said the noahs ark possibly travelled somewhere near Turkey, or the Red Sea, where there are low lying areas to be flooded and seem like flooding the whole world to Noah at the time~
so what u are asking about putting all animals in the ark is not as how u have imagined then. I mean, just imagine putting all the animals there are in the city that U are living into the ark is alright possible isnt it??
I dont remember exactly where they said about the ark travelling near the red sea, but i do remember them saying if the ark was near Turkey, then the noahs family wud have probably lived near istanbul, where the thin bar of land blocks water (go n look at the map, u will know what i m saying) when water from the mediterranean sea floods across and into the black sea, it kills all the people living there (something like that)
Hope this can answer your question alright~
thankz for reading!!!!xxxX
hope to see u in heaven one day!!!!!

It can't. Most cultures have some form of flood myth in their history.
Why? is a good question... in the case of the Middle Eastern myth it probably derives from a breakage that linked the Mediterranean and the Black Sea.Archaeological evidence indicates that there was a great flood in pre-history, and certainly someone who built a boat and included goats and sheep and what not would have brought pairs of the animals aboard to continue breeding stock.
Such a person, with such foresight, would become a mythological figure. Eventually after many retellings of the story via oral history, the person would be ascribed with the traits of Noah.

Noah built the ark to the specifications God gave him. God knew what kind of boat would float and preserve the animals. Noah did not have to go collecting the animals. God brought them to him. It took him 120 years to build this thing. He also had three sons who could help him and perhaps the unbelievers helped him too. We do not know. We do not know how much wood was available close by. We did not live then. The design (flat bottomed) that you suppose has no basis in fact....unless you found it and didn't tell anyone!

Honey you need to re-read that. Noah took seven each of all the clean animals and two each of the unclean animal. Also it was he, and his three sons, working from sun up to sun down for many, many years, plus it was a job that God had ask he to do, so Noah had a good backer going on there. As far as the weight go look at the ships that sail today, they are pretty big. Remember that with God all things are possible. Go back and ready this story in your Bible and if you still don't understand call someone from your church or any church, someone would be willing to help you.

Don't ask them to explain their fairytales. You might as well ask a 1st grader to explain how Santa delivers all the presents to all the children in one night. Or how does Santa fit all those toys in his sleigh? There's only one answer; 'Magic!!'
It's the same thing with Noah's ark. If you think about it like a rational human being, you realize that such a story is impossible. If you dig deeper and apply some elementary science, you'll realize that it is impossible for their to have been a 'global flood' as described in the OT.
The problem is, christians believe it so it must be true! They're like children who have been believing a fairytale for so long, that for them to come to terms with it's absurdity, means to deny everything that they hold dear. Nervous breakdown time!!
Let 'em have their fairytales. They're mostly harmless anyway.

Ah. Yes, The tale of Noah would be a delightful one for children if only the precedence of the story wasn't God becoming so angry that he was going to wipe out and kill the human race. Seriously, what is wrong with this picture? Mass murder is not acceptable among mankind, yet it's okay for a perfect god, your creator, your savior? How easily the bible blinds those from the evil of violence.

OKay think about this.....how in the world did we get all these different kinds of animals, impossible right? Well the exact same way we got all the different nations of people. Small example, a mule is a cross between a horse and a donkey. Plus sea animals didnt die. It said winged animals and land creatures died. And how do you know what resources he had back then? People got dumber over the centuries, not smarter. Mankind got away from simplicity and got more and more dangerous.

What for us would sound impossible, is possible for us. God can make things happen. If God has a plan all things will revolve around that plan to make things happen no matter how absurd or illogical they might sound. There is nothing impossible for God, He did everything, Noah was just faithful, believed and obeyed.
