here in ohio we need two. doesn't make any sense. we only buy tags for the back plate.

lol. i think people are confused.....but in simple terms......why do some states require only one license plate on their vehicle, and and others two. the back plate is where we put the new tag on.

You know, I've noticed this, watching Cop shows. Here in CA. it is against the law not to have a front plate. Yet, I know of no cop who approaches your vehicle from the front! We are not required to put tags on the front, in fact, you'll get a ticket if you don't put them on the rear, correctly. I don't get it . Maybe its to keep those prison inmates busy manufacturing license plates! If you find out, enlighten those of us who are curious.

Louisiana only needs one liscence plate on the back of the car. Texas requires 2... one on the front and back of the car.

How many people are suprised I know what she is asking??? LOL

Because some states only require one, while others require two. That's why! State's prerogative.

Ohio needs two because Buckeyes don't know if they are coming or going, unlike Michigan that only need one.
