I use my shampoo and my comb. I apply a little shampoo to the brush and run the comb through the brush a few times. Go all the way down to the bottom of the brush.

Take a pick and pull up the hair. (get all the hair out) Then when you have the hair out, toss it into the dish washer along with, your scrub brushes, toothbrushes, canisters, silverware compartment holder, things that need cleaning. Then you are not "wasteing" a load on just a hair brush.

First, wash with a mild antibacterial soap. There is a sterile solution called barbercide (usually used in salons). Go buy it. Its about 6 bucks. You have to dilute it with water. It has a very pleasant smell. And that kills just about anything and leaves you with a very clean brush. Rinse well with water again.. Pat dry.

Use a comb to clean out all the hair, then soak it in hot water with something like pinesol or ammonia. Just be sure you use the water because you want the chemicals to be diluted.

With a rat tail comb or if you find a hairbrush comb, thingy... somewhere.(It looks like a rake) I use it at work to clean out the brushes before I soak them in Barbicide for 10minutes.
