IQ stands for Intelligence Quotient. It describes the ratio of what you're supposed to know versus what you actually know. This is based on age.
If an 8 year old knows as much as the typical 16 year old high school student then the ratio is (16/8)*100 = 200 IQ. If an 8 year old scores the same as a typical 4 year old then the ratio is (4/8)*100 = 50.
Average intelligence is 100 IQ. Above average is 120 IQ. Genius is 160 IQ.
IQ isn't used much anymore. There was too much misunderstanding about what it meant to have a high or low IQ. The original intent was to identify students who would need extra tutoring. It became something used to track students and limit their opportunities. Later, some people started to complain that people who scored low felt bad about their scores and that wasn't fair. It's pretty much not used anymore.

The average IQ is 100. Einsteins IQ is like 182 or something near that. Anyway, a high IQ like 300...isn't good...because no one could understand you, because your intelligence and communicational skills would be critically high. Also, not to brag, but I took an IQ test, and my IQ was 141 and I'm only 13! Not surprisingly though, because I am smarter in every subject than 98% of the kids in the world. My brother(14) and my sister(7) are also in the same percentiles.

I believe 100 is considered average in US. You can take tests to determine your IQ. There are even some fun ones online that are free.

The average I.Q. is 100. However, today studies show that there are several different aspects to I.Q. For example, there is spatial I.Q., the ability to mentally see objects from different prospectives in one's mind. Take a look at the following article if you are interested further.

100 is average, higher is better, lower is generally worse. Less than around a 50 can sometimes be diagnosed as a disorder, such as mental retardation. High levels are genius.

Average is like 100, but that's just mainstream intelligence.
