I moved to the USA from the UK when I was 35. I fell in love with an American lady. After five years, I'm still trying to work out how it changed me. I think marriage changed me more than a new country.

When I left the UK there were a lot of things to be thankful for, but I'm not so sure that's the case now - at least not so much. So I'm not sure I'd move back.

Life in the USA is fragile. Work is harder than any European country I know of. If you want a secure life, including retirement, you really have to put in the effort. It would be nice if there were more of a healthcare safety net. If there is one thing that the USA lacks, that is it.
