People will be as they are. You can't change them. But you can change how you view them. Learn to accept others as they are. It is your choice if you want to have any kind of relationship with them. First learn to accept yourself without judgment, and you will learn to accept others without judgment. That doesn't mean you have to kiss their ***, accepting others doesn't mean you have to like them. Remember, they are living their life as they feel is best. You live yours the same way.

I really want to buy into the theory of people being hurt and what not, but shoot, I've been hurt and am still the pleasant guy I always was. Sure there might a period of bitterness but I don't take those things out on other people. It just sounds like a cop-out, that's all. People that are that way choose to be that way and very little of it stems from past circumstances.

I think they act in this manner to protect themselves.
With this behaviour they unconsciously push people away and put up walls so that no one can get close enough to hurt them in return.
Possibly because they have been hurt before, very badly and they fear that if they allow someone to get close enough, it will happen again.

Because invertebrates like you get on yahoo and ask stupid questions. If you would pull your nut sack down out of your adams apple and be a man, you probably wouldn't need to ask these sniveling whiny questions.

For some it's just living of their experiences. They themselves have been hurt and won't invite anyone to do it again.

I think it's all based on fear: fear of getting hurt, fear of letting others see the real us. Fear is the root of all evil.
