try use Random Acts of Genealogical Kindness. Their website is www.raogk.com. Look for someone who will do a lookup for you in Memphis. They can check out local obituary's from newspapers in a public library that carries microfilm.

I do lookups for Llano Co. TX and have found obits for a lot of people.
