Stretchmarks are probably the hardest cosmetic issue to resolve, and by leaps and bounds, the best thing to use for it is Mederma. Retin-A may help a bit, but Mederma's indication is for scarring, which is essentially what stretchmarks are.

In addition, the best way to prevent new stretchmarks would be to make sure you are well hydrated and your skin is well moisturized to insure that new marks do not occur.

I heard it only helps if the stretchmarks are red or pinkish not if they are white.

my wife did and it somewhat worked....i was able to get several tubes in Mexico.....however, i don't mind her stretch marks and i keep telling her that.....
