It's just more convenient for me to buy than to make exfoliants, so...brands, anyone? Preferably brands that are under $15, and can be bought at your local CVS store.

I don't know about CVS, but I do use Satin Hands by Mary Kay once or twice a month. Then in between I use Bath and Body Works True Blue Spa Sleight of Hand exfoliant followed by Look Ma, No Hands moisturizer. It's well worth the price.

ok, i have told this to so many people, however, very little have taken my word for it. those who have, have been quite pleased. you can use any type of scrub, no matter if its made for your face or body. preferably one with some type of fruit acids in it (grapefruit, lemon, etc.). this you can use regularly. about once or twice a week, use neutrogena advanced solutions facial peel as directed for your face, on your hands (i do my feet too). moisturize with 100% shea butter after, and if you cant use that go for the jojoba oil. parrafin wax treatments help seal it in as well. if you do this dilligently for a week, i guarantee results. i also go a step further and use a glycolic lotion on my hands and feet under my moisturizer. roc makes a good one, however this can be a bit more costly.

Pretty Feet and Hands removes rough skin without water or scrubbing. The exfoliant is applied to dry skin and rubbed in until the dry skin rubs off. It's that simple and quick. It's kind of gross when the dead, rough skin comes off in your hand, but the end result is worth it. Hands and feet feel soft and smooth. $6.99 at Walmart, etc

actully iv had this prob many a times in winter doing masonary... i found this stuff called bag-a-balm ( its for cow utters to stop chaffing during/after milking). that stuff works wonders and lasts a long time... its kinda like vasoline w/ vitamins. dont use convetional lotions they are made with fragrance (alcohol) which may feel better for a sec but just dry your hands more...(makes thier product sell faster also). if the problem is getting out of hand (no pun ment) see a doctor, they have miricale lotions!

you dont really have to buy an exfoliant. try buying a pumice stone. they cost 3 dollars at the most. soak your hands in warm water and rub them vigourusly with the stone until they feel extra smooth. then dry them and put on the lotion to lock in the moisture. you're hands will instantly be softer, but if you do it on a regular basis, you'll have the softest hands ever.
it works on feet too...trust me i know

if your hands are dry and cracked you really want to moisturize more than anything, try Sephora's Super Shea Butter Body Pomade. It is amazing and you can even use it for dry facial skin, lips, or anywhere. My roommate's hands split open in the winter from being dry, she uses it at night with white cotton gloves.
