Boosting up your immune system would be a good way to reduce the duration of flu. Vitamin C, Zinc, and Echinacea are some of the things you can take to combat flu. A good rest and drink much water are important too. If you feel uncomfortable, you can always buy some over-the-counter medicines from chemist to temporarily relieve the symptoms. Having a fever means infection presents and you are still not getting better, then it's best to see a doctor for antibiotics in the case of a bacterial infection.

Last time I had the flu, it was really bad. The best way I got rid of it was by going to the emergency room, which cost more than $100, but right away, I got better because they gave me some anti-vomitting and anti-dizzy shots, and the flu went away (well it made it seemed as if I didn't have the flu anymore). If you don't want to spend a lot of money, I would suggest having lots of bed rest, eat soup, and drink a lot of water. There's not really a cure for it.

Hope you feel better!

The old fashion way- plenty of sleep, lots of liquids, keeping yourself and your environment clean- throwing away all snotty tissues, and chicken noodle soup.
