I'm sorry for the time you are loosing with your husband. I hope all our troops are home soon, I think its pointless to try to help these people. they will only continue this behavior , weather we are present or not. Merry Christmas and GOD bless you. Tell your husband THANK YOU for his service !!!!

Unfair, isn;t it? I'm so sorry you have to deal with the long, lonely nights of a deployment for a third time, when so many people are unsupportive of not only the war, but the military as well....it has to be disheartening. If your hubby is an officer, and he's good at what he does, they might need him to keep doing that awesome work he's doing over there. If he's a regular enlisted, I'm sorry to say that that is supposed to be a random selection from a list (yeah, right). I hope that helped answer your question, and I sincerely hope this tour is a short one. God bless, and kee your chin up! He'll be home soon.

He has to go because he has to. Trust me there are MANY soldiers who have been in a very long time who have defiantely done their fair share of deployments. As far as NCO's treating him like crap I cannot answer that not knowing what kind of soldier he actually is.. You may think of him as a super soldier, but his NCOs may have a different opinion. My dh has a great friend that has been deployed I believe 4times just since 9/11 SO, your husband isnt the only one... Also not everyone has to deploy. Just keep maintaining pride for your soldier and dont keep count of everyone and their deployments...
Jennanderton, It isnt IMPOSSIBLE for a soldier of 15 years to have never been deployed... I know several off the top of my head.. i suppose they have just been the lucky few really, it also depends on the unit, and if they have been a DS, recruiting, etc..

i know it doesn't seem fair that some soldiers go and some don't. my husband will be going to iraq for a third time as well. but you don't know the circumstances of any of the other soldiers that keeps them from going. it depends on the job, the unit, their deployability. the amount of years you have in has no bearing on if you will be deployed. my husband is going on 15 as well and he's been deployed 4 times.

It sucks, I know, i just got back from that hole in the world called iraq, again myself. Depends on what his job is also, im an MP, they want us over there all the time, so i'll probably be back there again myself. It really sucks, im trying to get married myself, but i don't know if i could do that to my wife. Some people have jobs in the military that really dont have a reason to be deployed, its funny, but that is how it works.

My cousin is on his third year long trip to the litter box in as many years. It's just the way things happen.. he was recalled from IRR and sent. While there, he went Active again and was reassigned to a new unit. when he came home, he PCSd to a unit that was gearing up to go on their scheduled tour.
If yopur spouse has a needed skill, or just happens to get a crappy roll of the dice when it comes to duty stations and their schedules, It happens.

its really tough being a military family. ive been on both ends (the soldier and now the spouse) and i honestly think its harder to be the spouse. its hard to understand why some soldiers deploy 3 times when there are other soldiers who have yet to go. its all a matter of the soldiers job and the units they get put in, and to put it nicely some soldiers get the short end of the stick. just be strong and hang in there. and keep yourself as busy as you can, your husband will be home as soon as he can.

It doesn't seem reasonable that your husband should be deployed a third time. Maybe contacting your state representatives would help by at least getting some answers. Please let your husband know that we are all grateful for his service -- he's the best!!!

mine is gone right now. his 2nd in 3 years. it sucks. Those who go seem to go everytime. I dont know what it is. But It wont help you at all asking questions about it on here. Nothing is going to change it. When he left this time all he could talk about was getting out. Now 3 months into it and orders to Japan the talk is all about re-enlisting. I feel ya! There are plenty of women out there in the same boat. Dont surround yourself with the people who annoy you the most... (the ones who's husbands are there every holiday) and make the best of it!!
