It amazes me that the press has ignored this for so long. When we leave, Iraq will be open season for Iran and Turkey, remember, we destroyed Iraqs military.

I have a better question. DO YOU KNOW WHAT THE HELL YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT? What's your source? Probably your precious liberal magazine.
We are using the Iraqi forces (IA/IP) a lot. The only time US forces actually conduct operations is to preserve ourselves(until we are told to leave the country) and when requested by the Iraqis. There are operations in Iraq that must be done by Iraqis and only Iraqis. If we do those operations, the locals will get angry.

You have any proof of what you are implying ? Our soldiers are risking their lives for America and Iraq, and to say we are the reason for any genocide is ludicrous. It is shaping into an all out civil war, its a fight for power, understand it for what it is.
If Iraqis don't solve this there could be three civil wars all at once in the Middlle East, I hope the best for all involved, and nothing else.

While choosing a side was never the intent, if he were forced to make a decison between the two religious groups he would choose the Sunni's - because they are so much less likely to deliver Iraq's oil to Iran - or allow Iran to influence to whom Iraq's oil goes. However even if he wished to deliver power to the Sunni's at this point I believe it would be impossible for them to control the situation

It's the Sunnis who are causing most of the problems in Iraq, and the Sunnis who are killing most of the Iraqis.

There are people who had the perception that when US invaded Iraq, the Americans incited the Shiites and Sunnis to fight each other so that they could establish a puppet government.
