Contrary to what many people say, I have found that children need a lot of contact with their parents until they are at least five years old. A young child will absorb everything you do and say. This is the time to really connect with your child. I say this as a teacher. I have found that children that spend a lot of time with both of their parents are much more stable and can learn better. These children have no fears and are always my favorite students because they have a lot of desire to learn. I have some boys who have no fathers, and I find most of them cling to the shadows and are afraid of getting close to others. One girl once told me that she was afraid that if she said that she liked me, that I would leave her, too. I found out later that both of her parents have to work in another city and that the girl lives with her grandparents.
Sorry that my answer is negative, but I hope it helps.

I'd say the younger kids need a stay at home mom most. When my son was little he was a maniac and I knew his younger years were when I was needed at home with him most. I was able to stay highly involved in his school life. By the time he reached high school he "settled down" and became "ormal". Then I went back to work.
It probably depends on the particular kid and their personality.

I really believe having a parent stay home is best for the kids. It's most important when they're little, but people would argue that it's just as important when you're kids are teens.
Either way, if you can stay home, I think that's best.

staying at home when the child is young is great, but if you can't do it you, can't but it will let them inneract with other children at the day care. and it will be less harder than having a child clling on you all day.
