I have primary custody of my 6 year old son and he is happy but when he came back tonight from his dad's for the weekend my feelings got very hurt because he stated asking why he can't live with his dad.

I think 6 is too young to understand the full implications of the situation. When my son was 6 he also used to say he wanted to live with his daddy. It didn't really register with him what that would mean. He didn't think about the fact that daddy didn't have a job, which would mean not a lot of food, or that daddy doesn't have heat or hot water in his house, or that he wouldn't have his own room. He saw that he has fun at Daddy's house, and translated that into "it would be fun to live with Daddy." You are the parent, you need to decide what is best for him. I know hearing that hurts your feelings, but consider his motivations.

Hi Dear; well it totally depends on your child's will that either he is happy to live with his dad or with you.i would like to suggest that if you love him and you think that you can fullfill all his needs and basic requirements of his life then you(MOM) are the best for him otherwise if you think in future you cant be able to handle any troublesome situations then leave him with his dad.In general conclusions MOM are the best lookers for thier childs as compared to DAD.With Best regards =Adil=

Maybe Daddy is spoiling him.
Could be that he loves their quality time.
Also, could be that he wants to learn from his Dad's ways.
Ask your son and find out. You'll get the best answer from him.Explain things to him as well. For example, why you have primary custody..pretty much anything on his mind. How about the 3 of you have a family talk?Best of luck..don't let it get you down.I know what you're thinking,"easy for you to say".Am I right?
I'm sure you know your son loves and cares for you.
