She was cutting some collard greens and cut the tip of her finger. its not really bad. but it wont stop bleeding and is getting numb.she wont let me take her to the doctor(you know moms).What should i do or are there any home remidies?i already had her soak it in ice water.she applied pressure...i dont know what to do.

DO NOT put cotton on it! It will stick to the wound and painfully have to be debreeded later if she has to have stitches. Next, sleeping has nothing to do with it. Have her sit down and relax to keep her pulse from increasing which will make it bleed faster. Hold direct pressure with sterile dressings or freshly ironed cloth. Hold it above her heart. DO NOT apply ice directly, put a 4x4 dressing or cloth between the wound and the ice. You can damage the tissue with ice directly on it. Do not give Aspirin as it causes blood to flow more freely. If the bleeding does not stop, get her to the ER or call the Ambulance. It should stop withing ten minutes or less unless she takes meds to prevent clotting.

Have her hold her hand way up above her head while applying pressure tightly for at least 10 minutes. Then put a moist tea bag on it with some pressure and it will stop the bleeding. A friend of mine swears if you put instant coffee granules on a bleeding cut it will stop the bleeding . I havent tried that one but who knows.

put her finger in water and dab alcohal wrap it up tight and have her sleeep
