So if your father is laying down on the bed watching sports, and says " get me my chips."
Do you think that is slavish? Especially when he asks everyday without saying "please" ?

If he is otherwise a good father, I would say no. How hard is it to get the old man some chips. If he is always lazy and asking you to do stuff all the time, different story.

Rude yes, slavish no. If I'm at my parents place and I'm in the kitchen my parents might ask me to bring them a can of water or something else, I'm fine with that because I know they will do the same for me.

Yes! I would say "hell no pops, not til you start asking politely. Until you do you can get off your fat *** and get your own damn chips, I ain't your servant!!!"

LOL

JK, but seriously you could ask him to please say please and don't do it ALL the time, you aren't his maid.
