they damn well should. we have to have a license to drive a car, and kids are far more important than that. we may kill someone in a car so we train for correct driving, so we should be trained as good parents so they dont create monsters in society.

There are teenagers out there that make better mums to older mums some may need help but there are older mothers that need help as well just because a teen is young does not mean they are not good mums teens should get help with money anyway they should not be pressured to take classes if that is a rule i no some older mothers that need to go parenting classes as well

That's an excellent idea. Maybe we should be doing that BEFORE they get pregnant, so they will know that it isn't a cakewalk to raise a child. Then again, I took a parenting class in high school, and one of my classmates already had a child. We had one of those crying babies you had to stick the key in, and some computer in the back registered how many times it was abused, and if it took an abnormally long time for you to tend to the crying. I couldn't believe she failed horribly, and she thought it was hilarious her boyfriend stuck it in the freezer and threw it against the wall!!

I think all people (men and women) should do parenting classes. I studied child care (to be a day carer) and I learnt so much, things I may never use for my children. There are classes like sleep school where you can learn different techniques for getting baby/child to sleep/bed.
We head off to birthing classes when where pregnant why not parenting classes as well.
I also agree with your question!

I think anyone regardless of their age should have some kind of assitance when/if they get governement aid.

Mostly to help them plan for the future when they will no longer need governement aid.

i think they should. it would make them better parents over all and they would use the gov't assistance for them and the baby instead of just them. i work in a grocery store and too many people take advangate of WIC and FOOD STAMPS. sometimes i wonder why some people use either one of those. they can come in and buy $200 worth of food yet still have enough cash to buy a few cases of beer and a bottle or 2 of liquor. but teens deff. need to take parenting classes to know how to spend their money wisely and still have enough to take care of their children.

Absolutely! Teenagers don't know which end to diaper. Nutrition classes would be good as well so there aren't any more 50 pound 3 year olds!

Most definitely. There are so many things a young woman can learn that they do not know about birthing and babies. Personally I would recommend them for all new mothers to be. It wouldn't hurt if there were one's for the fathers as well.

ABSOLUTELY!!! My oldest son was born just 3 months before my 19th birthday. he is now 17 & my youngest son is 3 months old. If I could have only known then what I know now..... we would have been spared so very much heartache!
