I have a recipe requiring all purpose flour + baking soda + baking powder. I want to use Self Raising Flour, but don't know which to substitute, the baking soda or the baking powder or both.

For every cup of plain flour add a teaspoon of baking powder. Baking powder is reactive when you add any liquid, baking soda needs an acid. That's why they use baking powder in self raising powder.

1 cup of self-rising flour is equal to 1 cup minus 2 tsp. all purpose flour and 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder and 1/2 tsp. salt

you can use the self raising, but don't leave out the baking powder, it will be harder than a rock

YES...just ,omit salt,baking powder and baking soda.unless u're making muffins.good muffins must have double action baking powder..

Yes, just leave out the salt and all leavening ingredients if subbing S/R flour. No problem.
