You deserve to see your child no matter what. We all have done things we shouldn't but that is the great thing about life, we can keep going forward. I would try not to be angry and try to focus on the end goal, to be with your daughter. You will definitely have to seek legal advise, which you want to do anyways. A lawyer will tell you exactly what you should do and what your chances are and how to go about it. Your daughter needs you and I hope you are able to see her soon. Prove to the mother and whoever that you are a good father. You shouldn't have to, but you may need to, to make it smoother. You may not like the mother but do what you have to do for your daughter. Fake it if you have to . Good luck and don't lose hope.

You see your attorney and get visitation and tell him exactly what happened with the other child and have safety measures put into effect now that stop you from having the same fate. I am sure your child needs you as much as you need them.

Grandma has custody.
Don't wory about your exwife, talk directly to grandma.
Be up front and be a man.
Don't be afraid of rejection.
Communication is the key.
Just talk to Grandma.

Do you have visitatation rights? If you do then enforce them, if you don't them get them right now. Sometimes you can get them to not have to live so far away.
