You said, "The therapist says its up to me to change the way I think". Although this is true, you will most likely need help in doing this. You have obviously done some soul searching to determine what you worry about and why and determined that understanding the issues does no good at all. You will need to let go of those things that worry you and learn how to trust God. The way that you will learn to do this is by expressing Love towards those who are less fortunate. When you learn to Give from your heart then you will begin to see your own "thinking" change and you will begin to feel much better. Then, when you see the result of your expression of Love towards another person (whether it is volunteering or giving directly of time or resources), that Love will rekindle Hope in you and you will begin to have a dream for your own future that will bring a feeling of purpose to your own life. As you work toward this dream of your own you will see how by Faith (Hope in action) will heal your worry problems. Do not stop taking your meds though because you may still have physical conditions which cause depression. My formula is one that will change your attitude and disposition. I believe it will eventually help you physically as well as it has me. Peace.

Try some different meds. Sometimes it just takes finding the right one. Talk to your doctor first of course. I had years of depression and anxiety. I thought it would never let go of me. Hopefully, you will get your life back, as I did. I am glad I never gave up. I think that will be you too, because, even though it truly seems like it never will leave you, it does eventually. Hang in there. I am presently taking Lexapro. I find it very helpful for me. Not everyone responds to every drug. You have to find the one that works.

I wish all the best and send you my blessings as I know how difficult life can be when you feel so absolutely miserable and worthless. Just remember it is a feeling and not the whole story.

Please see if your primary care physician will do a thyroid panel to check those levels and see how they are. Sometimes a thyroid that is out of whack can cause depression and anxiety. There is still a lot that is just not understood about physical causes of depression and anxiety but your life does not have to be hell. What works for one person may not work for you. Go to a different doctor for meds to treat your anxiety until you find someone who will give you whatever works for you.
I am sure there is something that will, and that will give you a much better quality of life.

Make sure the meds don't interfere with each other.. ask the pharmacist. Then, take some B complex vitamins, very good for the whole nervous system, very relaxing, and you can't overdose, they are not bad for you at all.

If there is any chance you have faith in a higher power, turn there. If you have not previous searched out this as an avenue for lasting health-seek truth. Ask and you shall recieve.
