i will guess that what you have is a german mauser rifle,type 78.i am not quite sure,but it may be chambered for 7mmx57,or possibly 7x55.both cartridges are a7mm.caliber designation of which there were many variations.check the gunshows and the more obscure dealers for ammunition.before doing that i would highly recommend that you have a competent gunsmith check the chamber dimensions and the headspace as well as the overall condition.it may be an early version designed for black powder and thus would not be safe to shoot.i hope this helps. ken

The M.78 has a 10.4 x 42 rimfire cartridge. Old Swiss ammo. Good luck finding it, I'm assuming it's rare. Try http://www.ammobank.com/

It's .41 Swiss cal.
