This is a toss-up and a trade-off. The Canon has an optical viewfinder, which I value highly. The Fuji has a larger sensor and a good reputation for clean images, especially in low light situations. The Canon lets you choose between three different metering modes, including a spot meter and the Fuji only has an averaging meter. The Canon uses SD memory cards instead of the harder-to-find xD cards, although once you have one, this will not be a recurring problem.

I usually choose an optical viewfinder over almost anything else, but it seems like the Fuji has a leg up in this particular comparison. If you shoot mostly outdoors or in "normal" lighting, I'd lean towards the Canon. If you shoot mostly indoors or in darker situations, I'd lean towards the Fuji.
