I think, actually square (emerald cut I think)is considered really in style right now. Every girl likes something different. She might think a heart is romantic, but she might think it's a bit juvenile, too. My wife wanted something different than I picked out, so just get her what you think is good, what you think she might like and be prepared to get her whatever she might want. Hope it works out really well for you!

A heart diamond, unless you spend a fortune, is not going to be the quality that you're looking for...as for the circle, I'm assuming you mean round cut. Those are the most common cut of diamond and can be found in a range of prices. Take a look at www.bluenile.com as they have an interactive site where you can look at the different grades of diamonds.

I think your instinct of not getting a heart shaped diamond b/c it's a little childish, is the correct one. Round NEVER goes out of style, it's a classic, and will look smart and stylish right now, or 50 years from now. Don't go with the trends when it comes to diamonds. Go to Tiffany's website and see what they offer (if only for ideas). You will see that a round diamond is timeless.

I just saw a heart shaped diamond today at the jewelry store in the mall. It was so beautiful, it almost made me cry.

Diamonds are forever, and especially the diamond sparkle in the eye from the man who loves you. That's for a lifetime.

GOD bless.

I would go for the round shape. I am looking for a ring and there is no way I would stand for a heart shaped ring. I think the heart shape is a bit on the kiddie side.

Get a round cut. DO NOT get the heart cut. The round is classic, and will never go out of style. In fact, I recently just read a study that said couples who had a heart shaped stone had the highest divorce rate. But, it's just a stupid study.

It depends on what she likes. I wouldn't want a heart shaped diamond, but it could be her favorite. Do a little research. Go to the jewelry store and pretend to look for a watch. See what shes looking at.

I like my heart shaped diamond. I was 33 when I got it, almost 34. I get tons of complements on it, but there are several small diamonds in it also.

Any cut is very flattering for a diamond however the heart shape is very outdated.
Good Luck!

Make it a pillow- or princess-cut diamond. The heart is indeed a bit childish, and the circle is too boring.
