How can I improve my handstand and walking on my hands, I want to be able to walk well on my hands and surprise people!!

I happen to have improved my hand stand significantly over the last 6 months, although i don't do martial arts.

Here some prep tips to get ready for the hand stand
1. Do a lot of headstands and contract your abs while doing it, this will improve your balance
2. Do a lot of push ups to increase your shoulder and arm strength
3. Doing cart wheels will also help, once you are comfortable with the cartwheel, try to slow down the cartwheel motion and work on control.

Now for the actual handstand.
Go to a lawn (so won't fall too hard), sqaut, stretch out your arms and roll forward. Don't jump up but lift your butt up and tighten your abs up and keep your knees bend and try to find your balance. Do this is sets of 8 to 10 handstand.

Make sure your hands are on the ground before you lift your feet up, this will really help the control of your motion.

It takes some work but you'll get the hang of it

Do you intend to fight while standing on your hands? It doesn't sound very practical to me, but your right, it would surprise people. Rent the movie Gymkata (if you can find it). It's fictional, but shows a gymnast using his skills as a fighter.

You may also be interested in Capoeira, the Brazilian fighting art. They do a lot of handstands and flips.
