If paganism just wasn't working out and you couldn't find any joy in it, would you quit it for something different (even marginally different)?

bikernoj, I didn't mean it that way. No one can force you to change the moral principles you act under and the obligations you feel to the universe (unfortunately, some are often tempted to test this principle). I wondered if pagans felt that that paganism was a life-long (or lives-long) commitment or something to be adopted and changed as circumstances change. Thanks.

Honestly, I don't know that I could change my basic beliefs. I grew up polytheistic and this is the only way that I know. My beliefs have matured and slightly changed as I've grown older but the foundation is still the same. Surface things like the particular way that I do a ritual or the day that I celebrate a holiday is changeable but principles like a belief in reincarnation and a love for my deities don't change.

Life has a general ebb and flow and I know that my moods and outlooks will temporarily change. I'm not always giggling-happy but I have a deep contentment that is always there if I choose to notice it. Sometimes I get wrapped up in life and lose track of it but I would never consider changing my religion---I simply seek to re-establish my connection to my deities. I firmly believe that there is always joy to be found if I will just get out of the way enough to notice it.

If it wasn't working, I'd change what i was doing, but I wouldn't leave the realm of Paganism. That will always work for me.

I changed TO my religion because Christianity wasn't working for me.

If it isn't working, it can either be because you aren't trying hard enough, or because deep down you don't really believe in it.

If you really do, keep at it. It doesn't come over night.

Well... everything I believe in I have seen and experienced. If I saw and experienced something different. I would believe something different.

Is anyone REALLY happy?....Actually, I would follow only a path that is comfortable for me regardless of where I started from.
