i'm chinese but my hair is dark brown why?my parents say my hair was like that when i was born and i've never dyed it before.i have a cousin on my mom's side of the family who also has brown hair.hers is even lighter.Why??

genetics...somewhere the brown haired gene was mixed into ur family...guess its just been recessive...

Genetics. Often could have resulted from a genetic mutation from in one or more of the multiple alleles that control hair color. Since black seems to be the dominant hair color, there is a 3/4 chance you could have black hair. The only way you would have dark brown hair would be if the genes for dark brown hair is recessive. You must be one of the couple in your family who is purebred in the area of recessive genes for dark brown hair.

your hair is dark brown because you're genes if a person in your family has dark brown hair than you might get dark brown hair no matter how far back or if your parents have blond hair you can still end up the same way if your grandma had dark hair

Both of your parents probably have a gene for dark brown hair that is recessive.
It is kinda like two parents that have brown eyes can have a kid with blue eyes.
Or maybe your mom has something she needs to tell your dad about...

Genetics, and alleles. Someone from one side of your family must have had a shade of brown, and that travelled down the generation.

look. when u parents had sex in ur father spern thee was 26 chromosomes from ur dad and ur mom so and 18 were urs and maybe in that 18 there was dark brown chromosome color thats why it makes ur hair dark-brown
