What happens when you swallow too much gum?

Long story short, you poop out all the gum you eat. The rubber part, at least.

Long story- Nothing. You'll pass it all. The idea that it stays inside you for 7 years is a lie. however, there is truth in jest. Chewing gum uses a rubber smilar to the kind used in tires to make the chewy part. That makes it nearly indestructible in your insides, and if it was able to sit in the same stuff that is in your stomach like the acid, enzymes and bile, it would probably take around seven years to dissolve. I'm not exactly sure, maybe somebody actually tried that and could let us know.
But the part I do know is that your stomach is constantly moving the contents of itself down by means of peristalsis.(It's kind of like squeezing toothpaste out of the bottom of the tube, but inside you) This includes gum and anything else you put in you. Sometimes, very small things like poppy seeds and the like can get caught in small pockets in your large intestine, a condition called diverticulosis, but gum would probably be too big for most pouches, and if you had it, your doctor would likely have already told you that, and what not to eat. So everything you eat keeps going until it hits the toilet.

I would think that a person would have some emotional problems if that person swallowed enough gum to plug up the gut. A small piece will simply pass like everything else.

You digest it after a very long time. I heard that it takes four years to digest one piece of gum...

i just stays in ur stomach for like, 7 years. if u swallow a LOT lot of gum tho, like, a pint or smthing then yull probably have to get it removed. I read this story about this girl who loved to chew her hair, and one day she died. when the doctorrs were looking for how she died, they found this whole bunch or hair in hher stomach, and thats why she died. Maybe its the same w/ gum. idk

I read in a medical journal that a little boy had to be operated on
because it was blocking up his "insides." I'm sure there are
many cases of this.
