Hawaiian or Aloha? I have flown both airlines and both are pleasant airlines. Hawaiian is a better airline because they have won many awards for Best Airline to and from Hawaii, they have large cabins with lots of leg room, Digi Players (a multimedia personal device that you can watch movies, television, play games and much more right in your own seat) courteous and professional flight staff and crew. They are on time consitently, which is important for a vacation flight so you don't get left behind or miss part of your precious vacation. They have an excellent frequent flier program and can trade miles in and out to other programs such as Starwood Preferred Guest and Hilton Honors - just to mention a couple. The food served onboard the aircraft is by an award winning Chef who creates pretty good food and on an airline no less. They are also very competitive price wise. They usually release there specials 90 days prior to when you want to travel, so keep an eye out for those. Aloha is a good airline though, but for the above reasons and some others too numerous to mention here, I would recommend Hawaiian as a best bet! Hope I helped.

I have flown Hawaiian and Aloha many times. I perfer Hawaiian, though because it's very comfortable. They offer many services, like a Digi-Player. You can choose from a selection of movies, and if they have extra(which they usually do)families with small children can have it for free. I have also been an unaccompanied minor on Hawaiian and they were very good. Hawaiian has better food, too.

But, if you are island-hopping, I suggest Aloha. They are very corteous in inter-island flights and at the end they give you warm cookies and milk! Yummmmm:)

Both of the airline's personnel are nice, and if it's a short flight with open seats they both will allow you to move around to seats you feel more comfortable in.

Hawaiian seems to freely upgrade more. Before your flight, you can ask if you can upgrade, and if they have seats they will usually accomodate you. That has never happened to me on Aloha.

Hope I helped!

Both are perfectly acceptable. I personally prefer Aloha, their people have always been friendly and very accommodating. I don't get the same vibe with Hawaiian Air.

Plus, I like the open seating. Its such a short flight, there's no need for assigned seats.

HAWAIIAN!!! Aloha has horrible beverages. I hate their drinks and I had to sit next to this really fat guy on my plane. But seriously, I like Hawaiian. Good service, plus my mom has some "connections" to get free flights.

Hawaiian, I flew from SJC to HNL last June as a graduation gift/vacation. I had a very pleasant experience with them. I suggest sitting closer to the seats behind the exit rows if you want to watch the movie as they only have one screen and the exit rows tend to be the "front row movie seats"...I have yet to be on Aloha, but I've heard that it isn't very good.

The price is the same but Hawaiian is on time more often. They also have newer aircraft.

Hawaiian! They're the "on-time" airline, not to mention friendly staff, and great service.
