A wheel chock device is constructed of three or more mutually hinged sections and can be folded into a compact form for storage. The device can be erected into a triangular chock configuration, or can be stretched out in one plane to act as a sand ladder, or can be folded to act as a jack support. A wheel chock keeps an aircraft from moving forward or aft with its brakes off. Normally, each piece is shaped in a triangle and hinged with the other piece by rope or chain. One piece is set infont of the tire, one behind the tire.

It is a folding wedge that you can use to keep a plane from rolling. It folds on its hinges so it will take less room.

An in built problem, design fault.
Due to its nature of design it does'nt work properly.
In the case of a door a cocked hinge causing it to scrape the ground an not close.
