I have never heard of heating egg nog. Cold.

Hot with Bacardi Gold Rum.
Only an uncouth heathen would serve egg nog cold!
Try making your own....quickly cooked on the stove and served piping hot of course....

It used to only be consumed cold, now some engenious person created the eggnog latte. I wouldn't drink it hot on it's own but with coffee it's fantastic. Now in the mornings we put it in our coffee instead of milk or sugar,it's a real treat! I still drink it cold but only with a good dark rum.

It tastes best (in my humble, yet correct opinion) when it's hot with some cinnamon and nutmeg sprinkled on top. Hmmm baby!

Egg nog is usually cold with either rum or bourbon or plain.

Served cold, sometimes spiked and sometimes plain unspiked.
Good with a shot(your choice) of whiskey, burbon, amaretto, rum, sprinkle of cinnamon or nutmeg.
