I have a Kodak EasyShare (it's so old, they don't make it anymore though), but it's been the best camera yet. I have had zero problems with it. I find them very easy to use and they provide great pictures. The prices seem decent as well (mine was $300 when I bought it and it's a 5MP).

Try the Samsung NV10 or NV7. They look really nice and take great pictures. You probably have to buy one from ebay to get it under $300 though.

Love my Kodack Easy Share! Great software program comes with it for the pc, three of my kids got one too we just love these cameras! Many to choose from too

Mate, there are many nice cameras undr $300. I would reccomend a Canon or a Sony. :)
