Ok so im 140 pounds, 6 foot 1, trying to gain weight in muscle, basically i eat like mad all the time because i have a very strong metabolism and I work out for a half hour 3-4 days a week.My workouts are basically push ups, and dumbbell excersizes. Aside from that on weekdays i drink a protein shake twice a day and take ginseng. Will i start to notice a difference within a few weeks to a month and a half??

No! you will have to workout more like 5 days a week 2 hours, go heavy 10 to 12 reps and don't just eat food pick the right food to build muscle, lean meat ,chicken breast, not a ton of fat.
cardio 20 min a workout
enjoy your workouts and you will see gains and so will everybody else!!!

I would do a little more. For me, being a girl, i do weight training 4 times a week for an half an hour a day, all i do is bench press, incline, dumb bells, shoulder press and like lat. pulldown. and all kinds of leg work outs. And i have a good bit of muscle and i started about 9 months a go. If you want to really c a difference, then i would do a little more work. =)

It all depends on the amount of exersion you're using while lifting wieghts and doing pushups. You should work at 80% of your max.
