Try to make something and she will treasure it, suggestions:
A freshwater pearl necklace in her favorite colour, you can find directions on the net and you can buy pearls and string from most bead shops and Spotlight. Even people in a bead shop will show you how to make a simple one strand necklace. Wrap it in tissue and make a cute tag.
A photo album with family photos in it. Lots of effort finding the photos and having them reprinted but will bring on the smiles and the tears. Scrapbooking is popular and adds a personal touch. You can find scrapbooking materials almost everywhere.
Write a lovely poem, print it out in a nice font and then get it professionally framed or frame it yourself.
One year I had a t-shirt made for my mum and dad with sayings that they had been using all year.
Another year I did a huge pastel drawing and had it professionally framed. I'm not a good drawer but I was surprised as to how it turned out once it had the frame on it.
Here are some other ideas:
Clay or ceramic
Candle-making
Christmas decos

If you have no creative bone in your body then a handmade card and a voucher for the after christmas sales is good. (Do not skimp on the card)

Grandmothers usually have everything already. One idea I like is giving her a picture of you. Of if you've got kids, then a picture of your family. This year I'm giving my grandma a box of sugar free chocolates from a local candy store. It's something she can eat, and it is a treat that she wouldn't buy for herself.

A nice gift to give your grandmother is something that you made my grandparents apreciate it if i make something from my heart.
Because a storebought gift will break eventually.

A nice cardigan sweater, picture frame, or a pair of very soft slippers. Do you know what she likes? Ask some family members who knows her better. Good Luck!

Last year, I got my Grandma a calendar called "Fabulous Broads." It had a bunch of quotes from so-called "uppity" women. She loved it and shared it with all her friends.
